Stil i Lund on Klostergatan 1 cuts children's hair in a calm salon with only one client at a time. A hair wash is included in the children's haircut, and the visit goes at the child's own pace.
A calm salon makes a difference
For many children it isn't the scissors that are hard, it's everything around them: noise, strangers and hairdryers running. Because I see one client at a time, the salon is quiet and calm, and your child gets my full attention.

How the visit works
We start by saying hello and having a look around. I explain what I'm going to do before I do it, and your child can feel the cape and look at the scissors if they like.
A hair wash is included. Then I cut with scissors, at your child's pace, with breaks when needed.
Prepare at home
Tell your child beforehand where you're going and what will happen. Playing hairdresser at home helps too, so the cape and comb feel familiar.
Book a time when your child is usually rested and fed – rarely just before dinner. Bring something for them to hold.
And talk with your child about how they'd like their hair. Even small children usually have an opinion, and it's easier to sit still when you've had a say.
A cut that lasts
Children's hair grows fast and has to cope with play, hats and swimming. I cut so the style is easy to manage and grows out nicely, so you don't need to come back more often than necessary.
The first haircut
There's no right age for a first haircut. Some children need their fringe cut early because it falls in their eyes; others wait a long time. Go by the hair and the child, not the calendar.
The first time is mostly about it feeling good. If it's just the fringe that day, that's perfectly fine. A child who has had a good first experience will happily sit longer next time.
If your child doesn't want to
It happens, and it doesn't matter. Never force a haircut – it only makes the next visit harder.
Often a break is enough, or sitting on a parent's lap, or holding the mirror. Sometimes we cut a little and do the rest another day.
Let me know when you book if your child is sensitive to noise or touch, or needs a little extra time. Then I'll plan the visit around that.
Fringes and long hair
A child's fringe should be cut so it doesn't fall in their eyes even after a couple of weeks' growth. Long hair benefits from regular trims so it doesn't tangle as easily.
At home, it helps to detangle long hair from the ends upwards, with conditioner in and a wide-tooth comb. It makes hair washing a calmer moment for you both.
Book in good time
After-school slots go first. The salon is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11:00–18:00, and Saturdays by appointment. Payment is by Swish.
