The salon

25 years on Klostergatan: a salon in central Lund since 2001

Stil i Lund opened at Klostergatan 1 in 2001 and turns 25 in 2026. The salon has had the same address and the same owner, stylist Vilija, the whole way.

The same address since 2001

When I opened the salon in 2001, the plan was simple: a small salon in the heart of Lund where every client gets the time they need. Twenty-five years later I'm still at the same address, and the plan hasn't changed.

Trends have come and gone over the years. What hasn't changed is how a visit begins – with a conversation about your hair, before anything else happens.

Clients who have stayed

The best thing about being here so long is the clients. Several of the people who come to me today first came in the salon's early years. Some have moved away from Lund and still book an appointment whenever they're in Skåne.

One client recently wrote on Google that she has been coming to me for 25 years. Another has had her hair cut here for 16 years. You can't buy that, and I never take it for granted.

Craft at the core

I hold a Swedish journeyman's certificate and have trained twice at the Sassoon Academy in London. There you learn that a haircut should hold its own – it should fall right even on the days you don't have time to style it.

That's why I cut with scissors and shape every cut to your hair, your features and your everyday life. It takes a little longer, and that's the point.

A new chapter: Oribe

On 1 August 2026, Stil i Lund became Lund's Oribe salon. I chose Oribe because the range shares my view of the craft: more than fifty products, each made for a specific purpose.

After 25 years it's a joy to still be learning and to have something new to offer. Find out more about the range here: Oribe.

What has changed

A lot has changed in how we think about hair since 2001. Back then everything had to be straightened and thinned out. Today most people want to work with the hair they have – letting curls be curls and letting grey come through beautifully.

Colour has become softer, too. Defined highlights have been joined by hand-painted techniques that grow out discreetly, and more people ask for colour that doesn't need a visit every six weeks.

And booking has moved online. People used to phone. Today most book their appointment online, whenever it suits them.

What hasn't changed

A good haircut is still made with scissors, patience and a pair of eyes that look properly. There are no shortcuts.

I still see one client at a time. I still start by listening. And I still think the best moment of the day is when someone looks in the mirror and smiles.

The salon today

Today you can book cuts, colour, highlights and balayage, children's haircuts and Oribe treatments. The salon is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11:00–18:00, and Saturdays by appointment. You'll find all our services here: The salon.

Thank you – and welcome

Thank you to everyone who has sat in my chair over the years. And if you haven't been in yet: you are warmly welcome. I see one client at a time, so do book your appointment in advance.
